Grandma Laura ROSS BARWICK, wife of James {Jim} Barwick, was my 3rd Grandmother.
Born in Alabama about 1863 she was the Daughter of James {b. 1820} & Jane {b. 1840} ROSS.
According to the 1870 Henry Co. Census, her Grandma Laura’s siblings were Lucy, Susan & James Jr. Laura is actually listed as 6 year old, “Lucinda”.
Just a few years before his passing, my Grandfather E {Willie C.} introduced me to James & Laura via their portrait. Sadly I never came to know how he acquired the image or if there were any more.
It is my prayer that one of my Dothan cousins will have more images of Grandma Laura & stories to share.
Grandma Laura passed on the 13th of August 1927 & is buried at Mt. Sian {?}, Henry Co.
